 The Mandalorian The Mandalorian is an American space Western TV show that Jon Favreau created for Disney+ The show is titled "The Child". It's the first live-action television series of the Star Wars franchise, beginning five years after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983) and starring Pedro Pascal as the title character, a lone bounty hunter who is on the run to defend "the Child".Star Wars creator George Lucas had begun developing live-action Star Wars television series by 2009, but the idea was considered too expensive to develop. In October 2012 the creator sold Lucasfilm to Disney. In the following months, work on a new Star Wars series began for Disney+. Favreau signed on in March 2018and serves as writer and showrunner. He also serves as executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. The title of the series was announced in October of 2018. Filming began at Manhattan Beach Studios, California. The StageCraft technology was invented by Industrial Light & Magic, a visual effects company. It uses virtual sets as well as a 360 degree video wall to make series environments. It has been used by many other television and film productions.
