Barbara Eden

 Barbara Eden (born Barbara Jean Morehead, August 23, 1931) is an American actress, performer and producer who is most well-known for her lead part as Jeannie in the sitcom I Dream of Jeannie (1965-1970). Roslyn Pierce, Elvis Presley's sidekick in Flaming Star (1960), Lieutenant JG Cathy Connors (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea - 1961) as well as Stella Johnson, a widowed mother in Harper Valley PTA (1978) are also notable roles. The film's popularity led to Eden reprising her role as Stella Johnson on Harper Valley PTA (1978). Eden was born on August 23, 1931, in Tucson, Arizona to Alice Mary Franklin and Hubert Henry Morehead. She is an ancestor of Benjamin Franklin. (For several decades her birth year was believed to be 1934. Following divorce from her parents, she moved with her mother to San Francisco. Her mother got married to Harrison Connor Huffman (a telephone lineman) and they had one daughter. The Great Depression deeply affected the family and, as they could not afford many luxuries, Alice entertained her children by singing.
