Jane Seymour (c. 1508 - - 24 October 1537) was the Queen of England as the third wife of King Henry VIII of England from their marriage on 30 May 1536 until her demise the next year. After Anne Boleyn, Henry's second wife was executed, she was made Queen. She died of postnatal complications less than two weeks after the birth of her sole child, the future King Edward VI. Henry's wife, Jane, was the one who was chosen to attend an official burial for the queen or to be buried alongside him at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. She could read and write a little, but was much more skilled in household management and needlework, which were considered much more essential for women. Her needlework was reportedly beautiful and elaborate and some survived until 1652 when it ane became a maid-of-honour in 1532 to Queen Catherine however, it could have served her as the year 1527 began, and continued to serve the Queen Anne along with her sister.
