 Keanu Charles Reeves, /ki'a'nu/ keeAH-noo [4][5][6] was born on September 2nd 1964 in Toronto. He is a Canadian actor. Reeves was born in Beirut and grew up in Toronto. He began his acting career in theatre productions before moving on to television. His debut in feature films was in Youngblood (1986). The role that he made his debut was in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), which he would go on to reprise in later films. Reeves was well-respected for his part as a hustler in the drama series that was created by an independent producer My Own Private Idaho (1991). He also established himself as an action hero, with prominent roles in Speed (1994) and Point Break (1991). Reeves's appearance in the film of horror The Devil's Advocate (1997) was very well-loved. The most acclaim came for his performance as Neo in the science-fiction series The Matrix, beginning in 1999. He played John Constantine in Constantine (2006) and The Lake House (2006). He was also in The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008).
