Maya Moore

 Maya April Moore, born on June 11, 1989, is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Lynx. She is currently on sabbatical. Sports Illustrated named Moore their inaugural Performer-of-the-Year in 2017. Moore was also the National Gatorade Female Athlete-of-the-Year and the National Gatorade Player-of-the-Year. Moore played forward for the UConn women's basketball team winning two national championships in 2009 and 2010. After leading Connecticut to a national title undefeated, she was awarded the John Wooden Award in 2009. In the following year, Moore led Connecticut to its second straight national title and continued the overall undefeated streak at 78; in the 2010-11 season, she was the leader of the Huskies in extending their streak to an NCAA record for both genders (all divisions) of 90. Moore signed with Air Jordan that season as the first female basketball player. Following the 2017 season, she had a win-loss record in the U.S. since high school was 497-78.
