Nicolas Kim Coppola, born 7 January 1964, is an American actor. He is also referred to as Nicolas Cage. He was born into the Coppola family and has been awarded numerous honors, including the Academy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and the Golden Globe Award. John Willis' Screen World Vol. 36, named him one of 12 Promising New Actors from 1984. He won the Academy Award in 1995 for his performance in Leaving Las Vegas. His performances as Charlie Kaufman and Donald Kaufman in Adaptation (2002) was his second Academy Award nomination.
