Stan Lee, born Stanley Martin Lieber (/'li?b@rStan Lee (born December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018 (November 12, 2018) was an American comic book creator and editor. He rose up the ranks of a family-run business called Timely Publications which would later turn into Marvel Comics. For two decades, he was the main creative head of Timely Publications. It grew from a small publishing house division to a multi-media corporation that was the dominant comics. The 1960s saw the debut of these characters and others. Lee challenged the Comics Code Authority's limitations in the 1970s.
