Ariel Winter Workman (born January 28th 1998) is an American actress. She was the star of Modern Family's Alex Dunphy on ABC. To honor this, she along with her co-stars received four consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also voiced the titular character in the Disney Junior show Sofia the First and Penny Peterson in the 2014 animated film Mr. Peabody and Sherman.In the animated children's series Phineas and Ferb, she voiced the character Gretchen before being cast in the main part as Alex Dunphy in the series Modern Family, which premiered in 2009 before ending in 2020. She continues to work in TV animation. In reality she was the voice of Marina the Mermaid for Disney Junior's Jake and the Never Land Pirates. In 2012, Winter was cast as Sofia as the main character in a then-new Disney animated series called Sofia the First. The series debuted on Disney Junior in January 2013.
