Charles Wade Barkley (born February 20, 1963) is an American former professional basketball player. He is an analyst on television for TNT. Barkley was known as "Sir Charles", 'Chuck' and "the Round Mound of Rebound" after his 16-year career with three different teams in the National Basketball Association. While he was smaller than the average power forward, he used his strength and speed to become one of the NBA's best rebounders. He was a versatile player who had the capability to score, make plays and also defend. Barkley was an 11-time NBA All-Star as well as an 11-time member of the All-NBA Team, and the 1993 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP). He was selected to the NBA's 50th and 75th anniversary teams.An All-American power forward at Auburn University, Barkley was chosen as a junior player by the Philadelphia 76ers with the fifth pick of the 1984 NBA draft. Barkley was named to 1985's NBA All-Rookie First Team. The 1986-87 season was the first time that Barkley made his NBA debut.
