Christina Renee Hendricks was born May 3 1975. She is an American actress. She has a lengthy career on screen and stage she has won numerous awards which include six Primetime Emmy Award nominations, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Critics Choice Awards for Best Supporting actress in a Drama Series. The role she played as Joan Harris on the AMC drama series Mad Men is her most popular. In 2010, a poll of female readers conducted by Esquire magazine rated her "the most sexy woman in the world".She was also named "Best Looking Woman in America".Born to an American mother and an English father in Knoxville, Tennessee, Hendricks was raised in Portland, Oregon, and Twin Falls, Idaho, where she became active in local theatre. Following her Seventeen Cover Contest entry and her move to New York City to pursue modeling careers. She continued to work internationally as a model for over 10 years before deciding to move into acting.
