Shemar Moore

 Shemar Franklin Moore (born on April 20, 1970) is an American actor. He is best known for his portrayals as Malcolm Winters (1994-2005) on The Young and the Restless, Derek Morgan (2005-2016) as well as the role of Hondo in S.W.A.T. The entire series airs on CBS. From 1999 until 2003, Moore was the third regular host on Soul Train. He also was awarded the 2000 Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actor in the Drama Series. In the year 2016, Moore was nominated to the People's Choice Award for his involvement in Criminal Minds. He is the child of Marilyn Wilson (a business consultant) and Sherrod Moore. Moore was born to an American-born father who was African-American and a French-Canadian mother. He was a student at Santa Clara University as a outfielder and pitcher for four years. Moore holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication with a minor Theater Arts.
