American comedian and actor Steven John Carell is /k@’rel/. He was born August 16, 1962. He was the character Michael Scott in The Office (2005-2011 The Office, 2005-2011; 2013) the NBC adaptation of the British series that was created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, where Carell was also a writer, producer and director. Carell has received numerous accolades for his work in television and film, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy for his role in The Office. Life magazine named him America's most hilarious man. He also gained recognition for his role as a reporter on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart between 1999 and 2005. He went on to star in a number of comedy films such as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004) and its sequel in 2013 The 40-Year-Old Lady (2005), Evan Almighty (2007), Get Smart (2008), Date Night (2010), Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011), and The Way, Way Back (2013). He voiced Over the Hedge (2006) and Horton Hears A Who! (2008) and Despicable Me (2010-present).
