 Taraji Penda Henson, /t@'ra/dZi/t@-RAH/jee was born September 11th the 11th of September, 1970. She is an American actress. She was a student at Howard University and began her Hollywood career with guest roles in a number of TV shows before getting her first big break with the film Baby Boy (2001). She played a prostitute on Hustle & Flow (2005), for which she received a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance in the Cast in a Motion Picture nomination. She was also as a single mother of disabled child in David Fincher's Curious case of Benjamin Button (2008), for which she won Academy Award, SAG Award and Critics Choice Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress. She starred in Date Night in 2010 and was also a co-star on the remake of The Karate Kid with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. In 2011, she was a star in the Lifetime Television film Taken from Me The Tiffany Rubin Story,
