 Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2 1972), also known by his Ring name The Rock, is an American actor and former professional wrestler. He is widely regarded as one the greatest professional wrestlers to ever compete. His contribution to the success of the World Wrestling Federation, now WWE in the Attitude Era (an time of boom in the industry during the late 1990s and the early 2000s) was widely acknowledged. Johnson was a wrestler with the WWF for eight years before embarking on an acting career. His films have earned him more than $3.5 billion in North America and over $10.5 billion worldwide and make him one of the highest-grossing and most lucrative actors.Prior to his ascent to become a top-grossing actor in the 2010s, Johnson was an athlete. At Freedom High School in Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley, he ultimately was a star on the school's wrestling and football teams. They played in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, a conference known for producing top professional and Olympic athletes. He attributes his high school football coach for inspiring radical modifications in his life.
