Bernard John Taupin, CBE was born on May 22, 1950. He is a famous English artist, songwriter, and artist. He is most famous for his long-running partnership with musician Elton John, a songwriting partnership that has been one of the most popular in the history of music. Taupin wrote the lyrics to many of John's songs. In the year 1967, Taupin responded to an advertisement in New Musical Express by Liberty Records. John answered the same advertisement and the two have worked on numerous albums together. Taupin as well as John were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1992.Taupin was born in Flatters House, a farmhouse situated between the town of Anwick and the town of Sleaford in the southern portion of Lincolnshire, England, the son of Robert Taupin and Daphne, daughter of John Leonard Palchett "Poppy" Cort who was a University of Cambridge-educated classics teacher and former rector at Sale, Greater Manchester (then included as Cheshire).
